Hailing from Lecce in southern Italy, Gabriella Chieffo, a mother and environmental engineer, makes her debut as a fragrance designer with the intent to recapture the colors and materials of her beloved land. Her search for the highest quality raw materials and pure design merge on this olfactory journey recalling home, family, love and security. Each fragrance tells its own unique story.
The five perfumes express the values and eclectic personality of Ms. Chieffo. They have a Proustian power to tangibly evoke faraway places living in our visceral memory. Camaheu, Lye, Hystera and Ragout were released at Pitti Fragranze in September, 2014. Acqua Sala was released at Esxence in March, 2015. The fragrance names arise from various idioms that echo the multitude of emotions and “soulscapes” that Gabriella Chieffo has combined in a single olfactory language.
The elegantly formal bottle is a perfect cube with its contours gently softened by scented transparent waves. The caps are hand-made cubes of grey limestone from Lecce, excavated from deep within the quarries.
